From the first day of the war, RSU has been a strong advocate for supporting Ukraine and its academic community. Over the past three years, 18 Ukrainian guest lecturers have been attracted, and 39 Ukrainian students are currently studying at the university. To ensure the necessary support for them, RSU offers both tuition fee discounts to reduce the financial burden on students and monthly scholarships to help cover daily expenses. Psychological support is also available to students from Ukraine, ensuring emotional well-being. There are also discounts for accommodation in dormitories to provide a safe and affordable place to live, as well as 100% tuition fee discounts for studies at the Open University, allowing them to continue their education even in times of crisis.
We live in times of change and challenge, but thanks to education, cooperation and solidarity, we continue to build a stronger future together. Latvia and RSU stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine – both in academia and in medicine, strengthening its people in this difficult moment.
Ukraine still needs our support! RSU is ready to offer even more young people from Ukraine the opportunity to study in social sciences and healthcare study programmes, so we invite everyone to donate to Ukrainian citizens – RSU prospective students, students and course attendees.
The donated funds will cover:
- tuition fee discount for the relevant academic year,
- costs for Open University courses or professional development courses,
- registration fee discount for new students.
