Every human life is based on safe and high-quality drinking water. The ongoing attacks and air raids on Ukrainian cities and citizens have also caused significant damage to the centralised water supply and sewage systems. Thousands of Ukrainian water workers, brought together by the Ukrainian Association of Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises, are currently fighting to provide technical and financial support to the most affected water companies and to enable all citizens to receive critical amount of safe drinking water.
The Latvian Association of Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises has responded to a call for help from colleagues and has initiated a focused collection of donations for the continuous provision of drinking water and sewage services in war-torn Ukraine. The donations collected will be used for the purchase of the necessary repair materials, for the organisation of logistics chains to the critically damaged parts of the system, which are often located at the epicenter of hostilities, as well as for the costs necessary to provide the water management services themselves.
Whatever the situation and circumstances, a person cannot survive without water, so let us support Ukrainians and give them an opportunity not to worry about every critical gulp of water and civilised hygiene conditions.
