Tatjana from Jūrmala is 49 years old and a mother of two adult children. Six years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she successfully overcame. She lived with the hope that the hardest chapter of her life was behind her. However, almost two years ago, the cancer returned, spreading to her bones.
Despite intensive treatment, the cancer continued to progress. A medical team has now recommended treatment with expensive medication that is not covered by the state, and her application for individual reimbursement has also been rejected.
Every three weeks, Tatjana needs €3,907.68 to purchase the medication. The first doses have been paid for by her family, but an additional €62,522.88 is needed to continue her treatment.
"I want so much to live, to be with my children and family, to watch their lives unfold and share their most important moments. I want to be there for my husband and my loved ones. What makes our situation even more difficult is that both my husband and I are battling serious oncological diseases at the same time. My husband has been diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer, which has spread and metastasized, and he also needs treatment. My husband is the only one in our family who is working. We are doing everything we can, but we can no longer afford such expensive and ongoing medical treatment on our own. That is why I am asking from the bottom of my heart for your help, so that I can continue my treatment and live," Tatjana pleads.
