Dēvids is an 8-year-old boy from Riga. He was born during the 23rd week of pregnancy and weighed just 690 grams. After birth, the boy suffered from a brain aneurysm rupture. Dēvids took his first independent steps only at 2 years, and he has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Despite the difficult period of birth, the boy is very active, joyful, and curious. He has begun schooling and dreams of becoming a policeman. Dēvids can ardently watch lorries, tractors, and excavators for hours.
Dēvids likes cycling together with his family and playing with children. He is growing up in a big family with an older sister and two brothers. Regular rehabilitation is part of the boy's daily routine. Without making a fuss, Dēvids diligently exercises and visits an occupational therapist and a speech therapist.
Last year Dēvids had a very difficult spine surgery at a clinic in Germany, after which he needs intensive rehabilitation. A year of rehabilitation requires 7800 euros, and his family asks for our support.
