Ukraine is freezing this winter. It is not only soldiers in trenches who are seeking warmth, but also families and children throughout the country.
In the month that marks four years since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Latvian Public Media (LSM) in cooperation with Ziedot.lv is organizing its fifth support campaign for Ukraine. The campaign will run from February 9 to February 25, calling on the public to donate to support the people of Ukraine at a time when Russia's attacks have destroyed energy infrastructure in many places, leaving people without heating, electricity, and light. The funds raised will be used to provide generators, electricity, and heating to communities where it is vitally needed, allowing them to heat shelters, boil water, prepare hot meals, and bring light back to places that are currently in darkness.
The charity organization Ziedot.lv is working with the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund, and all of the money raised will go towards thie goal of the campaign.
With their donations, residents are helping both the defenders of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, while also supporting local businesses whose products will be delivered to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund.
