Every new-born child in Latvia deserves to receive not only the love and care of its parents but also all essential practical items so that it may grow to be healthy and happy. Unfortunately for many parents, providing such essentials can prove to be hugely problematic due to a lack of money.
Most often help needs to be given to those families with little or no income who are bringing up children up to the age of two. It is at this stage that much expenditure is required for a child’s milk formula as well as nappies. To avert the harsh reality and impact of the lack of money on those youngsters from disadvantaged families , so that these children may grow , develop and successfully stand on their own two feet, our help is required .
Most often needy families subsist on maternity , and perhaps other social benefits but these tend to be insufficient, particularly should something unforeseen take place such as illness for example. Very often in such families the week whilst waiting to receive the next benefit or a parent’s wage , can be crucial. Funds are lacking for food, especially for baby milk formula, nappies and perhaps medicine in the case of illness. On occasions distraught mothers ‘stretch’ the baby formula by adding more water than they should , yet in reality this results in the baby being malnourished which is unforgivable. It is not the baby’s fault that the parents’ lack money.
Let’s help families with small children who find themselves in such dire circumstances by providing the absolute basics of milk formula and nappies. A donation of just 16€ will provide on average a week’s supply of formula milk and nappies. This project has the backing of Ziedot .lv together with welfare organizations throughout Latvia.
