This year Aleksandrs will turn five. Doctors have diagnosed him with neck vertebra deformation and a cracked vertebra as a result of birth trauma.
As a result of the birth trauma, he also has impaired brain blood flow. This causes many different problems little Aleksandrs must to cope with. Aleksandrs cannot walk, he can only sit in the child stroller for a small period of time and gets exhausted quickly.
Aleksandrs’ parents are trying to help their son. They ensure him with rehabilitation and treatment possibilities. Recently, Aleksandrs was examined by the physicians of the Saint Petersburg Brain Institute and the family was given new hope. Aleksandrs was treated with a special brain stimulation method and, after two completed courses, already saw results. Aleksandrs is feeling better; now he can sit for an entire hour in the stroller and enjoy time outside. He has also become more attentive and responsive.
The treatment course should be performed three times a year. One course costs LVL 1 700, with a total of LVL 5 100 needed. The state does not cover such treatment, but the family cannot afford it.
